Economic analysis and policy
BIS Oxford Economics are experts at applying advanced economic tools that provide valuable insights into today’s most pressing business, financial and policy issues.
To influence stakeholders in today’s demanding, resource-constrained marketplace, organisations need convincing evidence backed up by rigorous, easy-to understand economic analysis. BIS Oxford Economics’ economic evaluation services include cost-benefit analysis, input-output analysis, applied econometrics and a range of broader work in areas such as multi-criteria analysis and index creation.
Cost-benefit analysis
Government and corporate decision-makers deploy cost-benefit analysis (CBA) in order to make critical decisions affecting both the public and the private sector. CBA is of particular interest to policy makers, since it can be used to decide whether important initiatives are worth undertaking from the point of view of the entire society.
Our consulting team are experts in cost-benefit analysis and have extensive local and international experience ranging from evaluating major transport projects to assessing the value of social and cultural institutions. Recent clients for work using a cost-benefit approach have included NSW Roads and Maritime Services, NSW Department of Planning and Environment and Carriageworks.
Economic Impact analysis
Using our input/output (I/O) modelling capabilities we can investigate how an area of activity contributes to GDP and employment, the potential for catalytic impacts on regional productivity and performance, and the impact of any policy and regulatory changes.
Clients for work using an economic impact approach have included the Victorian Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources, Mirvac Ltd, Sky City Entertainment Group, Townsville Enterprise Ltd and The Mount Isa to Townsville Economic Development Zone (MITEZ).
